The Australian Government has decided to revise the 65 year old Passports Act to ensure that Australia's world class passports operations are supported by a modern legal structure.
If your Australian passport is full, it is not possible for additional pages to be added and it will be necessary to apply for a new passport. If you travel frequently, you may wish to consider applying for a frequent travelers passport, containing 64 pages (double the ordinary passport size of 32 pages).
Clients can obtain and renewing an Australian passport by submitting only new version of the PC8. Passport application can still be lodged at overseas missions and passport interviews will also be handled by overseas post as well.
Application forms need to be read very carefully to ensure they are completed fully and that all statutory requirements have been met.
Australian citizens in the Micronesian region may lodge their application in person at the Australian Embassy, Pohnpei, or at any Australian diplomatic mission or consulate. Proof of your current name and signature should be presented at the time of lodgement together with the passport fee. Proof of identity can consist of your previous passport, Australian driver license, credit cards, etc. There are few exemptions possible to the statutory requirement to attend a personal interview.
